Accounting Firm Breach Exposes 46K Records

Langdon & Company, a CPA firm serving Easterseals NC & VA, just admitted hackers got into its systems last year and grabbed sensitive data, names, SSNs, birthdays, medical info, even digital signatures.

The breach happened in April 2024 but wasn’t disclosed until August 2025. In total, 46,061 people were affected. Victims are now being offered free credit monitoring and ID protection.

A slip here doesn’t just ding their clients, it hits vulnerable patients who never picked the accounting firm in the first place.

Chipotle Loses Its Numbers Boss

Chipotle’s chief accounting and admin officer, Jamie McConnell, just quit after seven years. She told the SEC it wasn’t over any drama, she’s just off to a new gig.

McConnell had stints at Rent-A-Center, Allergan, and Deloitte before joining Chipotle in 2018, helping oversee the burrito giant’s finances through years of big growth. For investors, the move looks routine, but anytime a C-suite exec in charge of the books leaves suddenly, people pay attention.

Canada Goose Might Get Plucked

Luxury parka maker Canada Goose (the $1,500 jacket brand everyone wears in January and forgets in June) is getting buyout offers worth up to $1.4B. Bain Capital, its controlling shareholder, wants out, and PE giants like Boyu and Advent are circling.

Sales are stalling, especially in China, and the brand’s seasonality is brutal. When it’s warm, no one buys $1,500 coats. To fix that, Goose is pushing $400 shoes and $450 sunglasses, betting people will pay luxury prices without the feathers… not working.
