WTF of the Day🤯
Your PTIN Expires December 31

You’ll chase a client six times for a W-2. Don’t become the person who forgot their own paperwork. Your PTIN expires December 31, and you need a valid one to prepare federal tax returns for money in 2027. CPA? Enrolled agent? Same annual renewal.
The IRS says it takes 15 minutes and $18.75 online. Sign into your PTIN account, hit “Renew my PTIN,” and get it over with. You can mail the form instead, if waiting six weeks sounds like a good time. Save the last-minute panic for the clients. They’ve been practicing all year.

Democrats Won Congress. Trump Still Has a Veto.

Democrats won the House and Senate. Next on the list? Make billionaires and corporations pay more, catch tax cheats, and lower costs for families. There’s one fairly large obstacle sitting in the White House. Trump still has a veto. Winning the election gave Democrats control of Congress, not a magic button that rewrites everyone’s taxes.
So what might actually pass? A bill that helps the IRS function like an organization you can contact. The Taxpayer Assistance and Service Act includes callbacks, better online tools, and standards for paid tax preparers. It passed the Senate. The House still needs to act. Apparently, “please answer the damn phone” has a better shot at bipartisan agreement than who should pay more. For now.

Weekly Trend Chart 📊
U.S. Military Aircraft Outnumber the Next Four Combined

Add up every military aircraft in Russia, China, India, and South Korea. America still has more. Fighter jets get the attention, but they’re only part of the fleet. Moving troops, delivering supplies, and training pilots all take aircraft, too.
China leads this chart in troops, tanks, and naval vessels. But picture a small patrol boat beside an aircraft carrier. Each counts as one ship here. America has fewer vessels, but its fleet is much larger by total weight. The chart tells you who has more equipment. It doesn’t tell you what that equipment can do.
If your firm could fix one thing before busy season, what would it be?
Ask the partner and they might say pricing. Ask the person who just sent their fourth “hey, just following up” email and you’ll get a different answer.
Let each person pick the WorkflowCon session that tackles their biggest headache. Then use ten minutes at your next team meeting to decide what’s worth trying.
