Getting indicted usually ends a tax fraud scheme. Dormeshia A. Haire treated it like a speed bump. Prosecutors said she kept filing false returns while free on bond, and a federal judge has now sentenced her to three years in prison.
The Scheme Ran For Years
Haire, 38, prepared returns in Illinois from 2019 through 2024. The fraud touched both her own taxes and the returns she filed for clients.
