🤯 WTF of the Day

The IRS Is Kicking Off the 2026 Tax Season on January 26
The IRS says the 2026 tax filing season will officially start on January 26.
That’s almost identical to last year, when filing opened on January 27. In other words, no surprises and no delays this time around.
From that date, the IRS will begin accepting and processing 2025 tax returns. Electronic filers who choose direct deposit can expect refunds within about 21 days, assuming there are no issues or credits that trigger extra review.
Paper filers will wait longer, as usual.

The Free Money Accounting Students Ignore
Accounting school gets expensive fast.
Especially if you’re going for the CPA and need 150 credits. That usually means a fifth year. More tuition. More debt.
The good news is there’s a lot of scholarship money out there from firms, professional groups, and universities that most students never apply for. These can cover thousands in tuition and sometimes come with internship and recruiting perks too.
Here’s a full list of accounting scholarships and where to apply

Norway Just Basically Finished the EV Transition
Gas and diesel are basically gone from the new car market. Even hybrids barely show up.
This didn’t happen naturally. Norway spent years making EVs cheaper than gas cars through massive tax breaks. Now that EVs dominate, the government says it will start rolling those incentives back by 2027.
Most cars already on the road are still gas powered. Only about one-third of Norway’s total car fleet is electric so far. Replacing old cars just takes time, even when new sales flip fast.
