Accounting firms keep talking about the pipeline like it is a weather event. KPMG is treating it more like infrastructure.

The firm and its people are putting $1.5 million behind William & Mary's Estes Center for Excellence in Accounting. The money helps fund the center's associate director role, which is less glamorous than a scholarship headline and probably more important.

The Real Product Is Belonging

The Estes Center was created in 2025 after a $15 million gift from Rob and Jean Estes. Its job is to make accounting feel like a real community inside the business school, not just a major students find after the first finance club meeting.

That means career treks, seminars, alumni connections, corporate engagement, hands-on learning, specialized coursework, mentoring, and more exposure to analytics and emerging technology.

Rebecca Reimers is the center's inaugural associate director. That role matters because programs do not run themselves. Someone has to turn the strategy into actual student experiences.
