WTF of the Day🤯
Michigan’s $5B Property Tax Cut. Sounds Great. Here’s the Fine Print.

Matt Hall wants to cut almost $5 billion in property taxes. He’s targeting four things, the 6 mill State Education Tax, the personal property tax, the real estate transfer tax, and the “pop up” tax that hits when you sell your house. That’s roughly $2.9B + $1.6B + $400M gone. Pop up tax not even counted yet.
He says schools and local governments will be “made whole.” No details on how. When asked if that means higher sales tax, he basically said maybe.
If you own property, don’t celebrate yet. If they replace this with higher sales taxes or other fees, you’re just paying in a different lane. This is a proposal. Not law. Watch what fills the $5B hole. That’s what actually hits your wallet.
What’s poppin in accounting🍿
Your Clients Don’t Trust AI to Do Their Taxes. That’s Your Opportunity.

A new survey confirms what most CPAs already feel, taxpayers are hesitant to trust AI with their tax returns. Most still want a human in the loop, especially for anything complicated.
This is your competitive advantage right now. Every firm rushing to automate everything is creating an opening for firms that lead with human judgment.
The clients who matter most, the ones with complex situations, real money, real risk, don’t want a chatbot. They want you.
Next client who asks about AI and taxes, tell them: “I use AI to work faster, but every return I sign has my eyes on it and my name on it.” Simple, true, and exactly what they want to hear.
