💎 WTF of the Day

The $1.5B Tobacco Tax Loophole
The GAO (aka the Government Accountability Office, think of them as the country’s accountant) just flagged a massive tax loophole in tobacco. Cigarette companies are re-classifying products as “pipe tobacco” or “cigar wraps” to dodge higher taxes, costing the U.S. about $1.5 billion a year.
The GAO can’t change laws, but their reports crank up the heat on Congress. Now that this watchdog is barking, lawmakers will have a harder time ignoring the loophole.

Temu’s Back on Top
Temu’s traffic cratered this spring after peaking near 400M visits. Everyone thought Shein might finally close the gap. But in July, Temu came roaring back, pulling in 186M visits vs. Shein’s 85M.
Shein’s steady, but Temu plays like a gambler. When it spikes, it spikes big.
