Scammers Are Tricking the IRS

Wait, the IRS is getting scammed? Yep. Fraudsters are pretending to be legit tax pros on the IRS's tax practitioner hotline to steal sensitive taxpayer info. A report from the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA) says these scammers are slipping past weak security checks and fooling IRS agents into giving out Social Security numbers and other personal details.
