The Weekly Lowdown - September 24 2024 (1)

⬇️ The Weekly Lowdown ⬇️

If you’re new around here, every week I share the 5 best tweets I saw in the past 7 days.

I scroll. so you don’t have to.

Let’s get to it:

#1 WTF of the Week

TF of the week WTF Moment – Share a surprising, weird, or crazy story/stat from the accounting world. It grabs attention and gets them saying, “Wait, what?”

#2 Whats Popping in Accounting

What's happening in accounting**Accounting News Recap** – Summarize the top 2-3 news items that matter most to accountants. Make it quick and easy to digest.

#3 Did you know?

Did You Know?** is more about interesting facts or lesser-known tips that are useful but not necessarily shocking. It’s educational with a fun twist, but it should still be practical.

Example: “Did You Know You Can Deduct the Cost of Hosting a Virtual Meeting?”

  – A fact or tip that your readers might not know but can actually apply to their work.

So, the WTF is like a wild, “No way!” moment, while Did You Know? is more of a, “Huh, that’s useful!” type of fact. That’ll keep them distinct and engaging. Done

#4 Trend of the week

A funny observation of life: I spent the first 18 years of my life trying to FIT IN at school. I tried to blend in. Hide my weird quirks. They were a liability.

Then - l've spent the rest of my life trying to STAND OUT. Embracing my quirks. Want to get a job or date? Don't blend in with the crowd. Stand out. My quirks became an asset.

This is something I'm going to try to teach my kids. Keep your quirks.
